Here you see three woodcuts that I made depicting a Wood Troll, a Windigo, and a Leshii. They are sized at 18x24 and 24X24 inches—being the largest prints I'd ever made.
The Wood Troll
The first print in the series, showing a wood troll hiding amongst some trees.
The Windigo
The centerpiece of the series, showing a windigo towering above the forest. Made of us, he even has frosty wind flowing around him. This piece is larger than the other two, running 24x24 inches.
The Leshii
The third in the series, this shows the Leshii spirit. Known for his shapeshifting, but also known to have hair covering his entire body, I tried to bring both of those features into the image.
About the process:
These are some shots of the process that went into making the first print. Here you see my rough sketch, then my finished comp, then the wood carving begins, and lastly the the print is pulled.
